We’re big fans of smoothies and milkshakes in my family, especially during the summertime. I usually end up making some version of fruit smoothies or chocolate smoothies. But lately I’ve been on a beet and berry kick.
I love adding beets to shakes and smoothies. They pair so well with sweet berries like raspberries and strawberries.
Beets are delicious in milkshakes and smoothies! They’re super healthy too. Plus you can’t beat the gorgeous color they make.
Do you know the health benefits of adding beets to milkshakes and smoothies?
Beets are known to lower blood pressure, boost stamina, support the liver and support detoxification. They are high in vitamin C, fiber, minerals like potassium and contain B vitamins.
Cooked beets are easier on the body and best for supporting digestion. It’s super easy to quickly prepare and cook the beets. When frozen, the cooked beets add a lovely creamy texture to shakes and smoothies.
Next time you’re in the mood for a refreshing, cold drink, grab some summer berries and beets and make yourself a delicious Berry Beet Milkshake.
