There are so many chemicals and toxins in beauty and body products these days. These body products are used every single day, over and over. My dear friends, it’s well known that most of these mainstream beauty and body products have toxic chemicals that can be linked to allergies, eczema, skin issues like acne, asthma, hormone disruptors and even cancer. Not good at all.
Let’s be mindful of our skin and what we put on it. Do you know that it only takes 26 seconds for chemicals in your personal care products to enter your bloodstream. These chemicals are being absorbed into your body through topical application.
It’s time to start using safer skincare!
Over 10 years ago I made a huge change and swapped out all of my mainstream body and home products {including my garden products too!} for natural and homemade DIY products. Having my first baby was all it took to push me towards choosing safer options for me and my family.
Although I love making a lot of my own body and skincare products, I have struggled with finding a face cream, hand cream and body lotion/cream that I love. Until now!
I am absolutely in love with Crunchy Balm Tallow Balm!
Nourish Your Skin with Crunchy Balm Tallow Balm
Crunchy Balm is a healing, whole food, 100% grass-fed tallow balm.
For so many years, we as a society have been dousing our skin with plant-based skin care or chemical-laden skin-care. While some plant-based oils are great, they don’t always work well for all skin types.
Tallow was used by our ancestors to protect and moisturize their skin. Somewhere along the way we were led to believe that plant-based skin care products were superior, even though their chemistry does not match our skin well. (source)
Although plant-based oils and butters can be great, animal products {like tallow} offer your skin a unique set of nourishing fats and nutrients like vitamins A, D, E, and K in perfect harmony with their activators along with anti-inflammatory CLA {conjugated linoleum acid}. (source)
Crunchy Balm Tallow Balm Skin Care Ingredients
You won’t find any petroleum based ingredients, artificial colors, fragrances, chemicals, or GMO’s in Crunchy Balm … just pure 100% grass-fed tallow from cows pastured on organically grown grass.
Crunchy Balm only contains THREE natural ingredients!
100% Grass-fed Tallow – Crunchy Balm Tallow Balm comes from 100% grass-fed cows raised on small family farms. Tallow nourishes your skin. It is health promoting and has a cumulative effect, which means the more you use it, the more soft and supple your skin becomes.
Organic USA Olive Oil – Olive oil is superb for moisturizing the skin, containing 3 major antioxidants and hydroxytyrosol which prevents free radical damage to the skin. Because olive oil is highly adulterated, and often infused with cheaper oils, Crunchy Balm only sources organic USA grown and made olive oil.
Essential Oils – All of the essential oils used in Crunchy Balm products are of the highest quality grade. These therapeutic essential oils are carefully selected for their skin restoring properties. (source)
Crunchy Balm’s “Original” is 100% pure Grass-fed Beef Tallow, Organic Olive Oil, 100% Pure Therapeutic-Grade Essential Oils of Lavender, Bergamot, Frankincense, and Sandalwood. It smells lovely and is not strong or overpowering at all. It’s my favorite! I absolutely love the soft, creamy texture and how it feels on my skin. My husband even likes it!
Crunchy Balm also offers “Sweet Girl” which is the same as the “Original” but with different essential oils – Marjoram, Chamomile, Ylang Ylang, Spruce and Frankincense.
If you prefer not to use essential oils, don’t worry, Crunchy Balm has you covered and offers an unscented tallow balm with just 100% pure Grass-fed Beef Tallow and Organic Olive Oil.
How to Use Crunchy Balm Tallow Balm
Our skin cell membrane is made up primarily of fatty acids, tallow has the most similar fatty acid profile. This results in thorough absorption of the tallow balm and assimilation of the vitamins and fatty acids into our own skin. Only a small amount of tallow is needed and a little goes a long way. Hi Emily! This product sounds fantastic. I’m going to be moving to a much colder climate next month, and I’m sure my skin is going to need a lot of help to stay moisturized this winter. I’ll bet the original smells wonderful, too – love that it has sandalwood oil in it. Thanks for sharing this information. Pinning and sharing this post!
I hear your on the skin in colder climate. This is going be so helpful for that. My hands and wrists get extremely dry during the winter to the point it’s painful. The weather hasn’t turned to cold here yet, but I have been using it on my driest spots and I’ve been blown away at how fast it heals my skin. I have no more dry hands or elbows now, and I noticed a complete difference in just a few days. I’ve never had something work so fast before. I hope you get to try some Marge, and good luck on your move. Thanks for the pin too!

That’s wonderful! It truly is such a great balm! I agree, it absorbs into the skin so beautifully. 🙂
Where are they (the balm company) from or located in?
Hi Heidi, I believe Emilie and her family live on their farm in Mississippi. They only source organic products made in the USA and are committed to supporting small, family owned farms who grazed their cows on fresh pasture year round.
This balm sounds amazing! I love that you keep your readers informed on healthy alternatives to toxin filled cosmetics!
Thanks Linda! It’s really a great, safe, natural product. 🙂
I’ve been using Crunchy Balm since last fall and I simply LOVE it! From baby bottoms, to dry skin, to my night time skin routine!
Love that! Good idea for baby bottoms too! That’s a great idea!
