It’s no surprise that I’m a huge fan of homemade ice cream + sherbet + frozen yogurt… those of you who have followed me for awhile know that. I mean, really, what’s not to like? Creamy, delicious, frozen goodness, yes please! Food is meant to be enjoyed + when you make it from scratch, you get to decide what goes in it. I am not a fan of depriving yourself of foods that you really love. That doesn’t mean you have to eat special treats all the time … or go for it, I’m not judging {I have been known to indulge in some homemade ice cream for breakfast}.
I really love the idea of sharing food that you truly enjoy with those you love. For me, that means serving food that I have made from scratch to my family. I love the joy that it brings them. It’s always nice to see my husband’s face light up or hear one of my little one’s saying “Mmmm.”
There’s something so special about sitting around the table with those you love, sharing food, stories + laughter. It’s such a sacred thing.
Sitting around the table with those you love is something that my friend Ariana is very passionate about too. She’s an American expat living in Europe who shares her travels, adventures, delicious recipes, beautiful photography + inspiration for living a simple, meaningful life on her blog And Here We Are.
I was so excited when Ariana asked if I’d like to review her new cookbook And Here We Are At The Table: Grain-Free Meals From Around The World. I couldn’t wait to sit down and look through the pages of her cookbook and see all of the recipes. What I found was page after page of beautiful photos of nourishing recipes + her travels from around the world.

INGREDIENTS I USED: I don’t have access to organic Greek yogurt, so I used full-fat plain organic yogurt instead. I love Traderspoint Creamery European-style plain whole yogurt – it’s organic + 100% grass-fed. I used a light colored local raw honey. I have used this and this honey brand before. For raw + organic dairy resources near you, see my About page – scroll down to the bottom of that page.
I love how Ariana shares her adventures + inspires us to try new flavors and cook from scratch. And Here We Are At The Table would make a wonderful cookbook to add to your home collection + it would make a lovely hostess gift for a foodie or anyone who loves to travel.

The BLT breakfast salad sounds really fun for summer!! This ice cream looks amazing. I look forward to spending more time with this cookbook in the coming week!
Doesn’t the salad sound yummy? You’re going to really enjoy it.
This yogurt looks good. I wonder if I could use an old timey ice cream maker? Rock salt and such…
I’m not sure, I have never used one. I would assume it would work though.
oh… international food. SUSHI. Hands down. 🙂
Sushi is yummy!

This frozen yogurt looks great. Thanks for the giveaway. My favorite food is Mexican. pinning your recipe.
Thanks so much Debi! I appreciate it. I love Mexican food too 🙂
My absolute favorite international food is warm hummus with fresh baked pita bread. There is only one place I have found here in Colorado that serves it. The Kabob Station in Westminster. The owner is from Lebanon. I have tried and tried to recreate that hummus. I’ve come close but it’s never just the same. It is so delicious!!!! I would love to know the secret!
Sounds delicious! 🙂
I haven’t tried a lot of international foods, but love most mexican food, and Gelato is amazing.
I love Mexican food too and I’m a huge fan of Gelato too 🙂
I find it hard to resist the flavors of Mexican food. Looking forward to trying this recipe; my daughter is a fan of ice cream.
I love Mexican food too 🙂
I love homemade yogurt and haven’t made Greek style in awhile, but it’s something that’s been on my list. I have added honey to my yogurt a few times, but usually I just eat it with fruit. This looks really yummy and I’m going to try it!
I just entered the giveaway too! Ariana’s book looks fabulous!
We like yogurt with fruit too, my daughter usually just eats plain yogurt though, so she loved this frozen yogurt since it was a special treat 🙂
My favorite international food is anything Indian, particularly butter chicken and saag. 🙂
Yum! I love Indian food too 🙂
Does anyone know how this would turn out with fat free Greek? That’s what I happen to have on hand and would love to try!
I’m guessing it would still turn out fine. The consistency might be a bit different if the yogurt is fat free, but it might not be since yogurt is already thick.
Would surely try this one! Thanks for sharing!
🙂 it’s very refreshing
