These healthy Concord Grape Gummies are made from sweet concord grapes and grass-fed gelatin. They’re a great alternative to store-bought fruit snacks.
Gummies are such a fun food!
What kid doesn’t love fruit snacks? They’re such a common snack these days, pretty much every child loves them. Most adults like them too! I know I do. BUT … I am not a fan of the store-bought ones.
Homemade, healthy concord grape gummies are so easy to make!
I like being able to decide what goes into them – everything from the sweetener, to the liquid/juice, to the extras like vitamins, probiotics or even immune boosting elderberry syrup.
Most people have heard by now that grass-fed gelatin is like a superfood. It’s AMAZING stuff!
Benefits of Gelatin
- Gelatin helps heal the gut. It’s known for helping restore the gut lining. It actually helps fill the holes in damaged areas. Pretty cool right? It even helps soothe the intestinal tract and reduce inflammation. This is one of the reasons it’s helpful to consume when you’re sick. It’s very gentle on the stomach.
- Gelatin is known to help build stronger bones, build stronger nails plus improve dental health.
- Gelatin is great for healthy skin, hair and nails.
- Gelatin is great for joint health plus it’s known to help reduce joint pain.
- Gelatin is a good source of protein.
Making your own homemade gummies or fruit snacks is a great way to use gelatin.
For me, it’s a wonderful way to get gelatin into my children’s diet. I love that homemade gummies are packed with protein, so at least I know my Little Love {who doesn’t eat as much as the rest of my family} is getting some protein with the healing benefits of gelatin too.
Healthy Concord grape gummies are a fun snack to make with your kids too. Kids love to get involved and be in the kitchen working with you.
My Tiny Love even helped make this batch of gummies! She helped pour the homemade Concord grape juice from the blender into the strainer and helped stir the gelatin mixture too.
Healthy Concord grape gummies are such a quick, easy snack to make. It literally takes minutes to throw it all together, and about 30 minutes later, they’ve set up in the refrigerator and are ready to eat.
Make sure to make up a batch while Concord grapes are in season. They are my favorite grapes … so delicious + full of flavor! Their season is short though, late summer through early fall. So grab some while you can.
Of course you could always just use organic Concord grape juice, but it’s more fun to make your own from scratch.
Concord Grape Gummies
These healthy Concord Grape Gummies are made from sweet concord grapes and grass-fed gelatin. They're a great alternative to store-bought fruit snacks. YOU WILL NEED: Blender or Food Processor, Fine Mesh Strainer, Large Mixing Bowl or Large Measuring Cup, Molds {my family loves these and these} or Glass Dish *Make sure to use gelatin - this is the one that gels. Do not use collagen peptides or collagen hydrolysate for this recipe, that form of gelatin is cold-water soluble and does not gel. Note: You want the liquid to equal 2 1/2 cups. If you're using whole Concord grapes, you will need 1/2 cup water to make the juice. If you not using whole grapes, you can just use 2 1/2 cups of grape juice and omit the water. Those grapes are beautiful! And I’m sure the gummies are delicious. I agree, homemade is 100x better than anything you can find at the store! Thanks so much for sharing these at Savoring Saturdays, Emily!
Thanks Raia!
I can’t wait to try this. Do you think I could use other fruit? My toddler loves blueberries!
I haven’t made it with blueberries, but I think as long as you have juice that is strained it will turn out the same. 🙂
How long will these gummies store?
Hi Jamie, they are best stored in an air-tight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days, I’ve never stored them longer than that but I know some people store them up to a week. Mine just never last longer than 3 days because the family eats them up so fast.
Hi, I am looking to make these for my 15 month old daughter. Do you know what measurements I could use to make these more of a jello for my daughter to have? Just looking to convert this recipe. Also how much vitamin c does each gummy have per serving?
Hi Alli 🙂 You can check out my jello recipe and just swap the juice. I wish I knew the answer to the vitamin c aspect, I don’t know what the actual nutrition facts would be for that. If you’re using the vitamin C powder, you’ll want to follow the suggested recommendations for servings – maybe that would help gauge about how much vitamin C is in them? I use about 1/4 to 1/2 tsp of the vitamin C powder that I use for my family. I hope she loves them!
Does the homemade grape juice stain the silicone molds?
I’d like to try a smaller recipe. Can you give me the measurements for 1/2 cup of juice?
Hi Wendy, I’ve never had grape juice stain any silicone molds that I’ve used. Usually silicone doesn’t hold stains of any kind. I hope you get to try the recipe! 🙂 I’m on maternity leave and don’t have measurements for changing the recipe. I’ve never reduced the recipe and made a smaller batch, I’m guessing it would work just fine, but I can’t say for sure.
