Easy Instant Pot Deviled Eggs ... the easiest hard boiled eggs method ever plus a delicious real food Cilantro Lime Deviled Egg recipe with NO mayo.
The Instant Pot makes the easiest deviled eggs EVER!
Technically I mean the Instant Pot makes the easiest hard boiled eggs ever. I have never found a method more simple than this. PLUS the shells peel off so perfectly!
If you have made hard boiled eggs with pastured eggs before, you know that the shells can be a huge pain to remove. But not with the Instant Pot! The shells release so easily!
Honestly, I rarely make deviled eggs even though my family loves them because I always dread peeling the shells. Not anymore! I was seriously in amazement when I made my first batch of hard boiled eggs.
This method is so incredibly simple and fast!
Deviled eggs will be happening in my house more often now. {My husband is super happy about this.}
If you haven't heard about the Instant Pot yet, let me just say ... IT. IS. A. GAME. CHANGER!!! Wow, wow, wow! I am so impressed with the Instant Pot. Everyone is talking about them these days, and now I know why.
The 7-in-1 Instant Pot is more than just a pressure cooker. It also has a sauté feature {yes, you can sauté onions and garlic + more, how cool is that?!}, a rice cooker setting, a yogurt setting and can even be used as a slow cooker instead.
Bone broth in hours {instead of 24 hours}, soup super fast, applesauce in 3 minutes, the BEST perfectly cooked CHEESECAKE {so good!}, stuffed peppers in minutes {instead of 1 hour}, pot roast in a little over an hour {instead of 4} ... yes please!
When you're in a pinch, you can get dinner - or dessert - on the table fast!
But back to the deviled eggs ...
Truly, this is the easiest recipe + making the actual hard boiled eggs couldn't be any easier. Today I'm sharing my family's long time "secret" ingredient for deviled eggs ... any guesses?
BUTTER ... good ol creamy pasture butter.
I like to add lots of flavor to my deviled eggs and NO mayo. Sorry mayo friends, it's just not something my family likes. Instead, I use creamy cultured sour cream, some tang from Dijon mustard and a little Latin flare for my husband - fresh lime juice and cilantro + that delicious melted pasture butter.
Oh my goodness, these Cilantro Lime Deviled Eggs are so delicious!!! We like to top them with some crumbled crispy pasture raised bacon too. Of course that's totally optional, but my family loves it.
Cilantro Lime Deviled Eggs with NO Mayo
Easy Instant Pot Deviled Eggs
Easy Instant Pot Deviled Eggs ... the easiest hard boiled eggs method ever plus a delicious real food Cilantro Lime Deviled Egg recipe with NO mayo.
Ingredients
- 12 pasture raised or organic eggs
- 1 cup water
- ¼ cup organic sour cream {I use Nancy's true cultured sour cream}
- 2 tablespoons grass-fed butter, melted and slightly cooled
- 2 tablespoons organic cilantro, finely minced
- 1 tablespoon organic Dijon mustard
- 2 teaspoons fresh organic lime juice
- ¼ teaspoon Celtic sea salt, to taste (<-- salt)
Instructions
To Make the Instant Pot Hard Boiled Eggs:
- Plug in your Instant Pot. Place the stainless steel trivet in the Instant Pot stainless steel bowl {this comes with the Instant Pot}. Pour 1 cup of water into the Instant Pot.
- Place the eggs on the stainless steel trivet.
- Put the Instant Pot lid on and secure it by locking it in the closed position. The Instant Pot should be on.
- Press the MANUAL button and cook for 5 minutes.
- Make sure the vent on the top of the lid is in the closed position. Walk away from the Instant Pot and let it do its work. Don't worry, it will start - it doesn't start immediately.
- While the eggs are cooking, get a large bowl ready with ice cold water {for an ice bath} or very cold water if you don't have ice. Prep the deviled eggs filling ingredients [See instructions below].
- When the Instant Pot is done cooking, using an oven mitt turn the vent valve to release the steam. Wait until all of the steam/pressure has escaped. Remove the lid.
- Immediately place eggs into an ice bath. Allow eggs to soak and cool for a minute or two to stop the cooking process.
- Peel eggs and carefully slice in half.
To Make the Deviled Eggs:
- In a medium size mixing bowl, add the sour cream, melted butter, minced cilantro, Dijon mustard, lime juice and sea salt. Stir to combine.
- Add all cooked egg yolks to the mixture. Smash with a fork and mix until creamy and fully combined {no chunks should be left}.
- Use a spoon or a piping bag {or makeshift piping bag from a small baggie with one corner cut off} to fill the egg white halves until you have used up all of the egg yolk mixture.
- Serve immediately or chill and refrigerate for later.
Notes
Optional Topping: Top with crumbled pasture raised crispy bacon + extra chopped cilantro.
Storage: Keep in an airtight container for up to 2 days in the refrigerator.

Love deviled eggs. I am so glad you used Nancy's products. I adore the taste of her products. Can't wait to try this recipe.
Emily Sunwell-Vidaurri
I love Nancy's brand too! 🙂 Most sour creams are not a "true" cultured sour cream these days, so that's one of the reasons I really love their brand - they are authentic. Plus it tastes so much better too 🙂
Marjorie

I got my Instant Pot on a super fantastic Black Friday sale with Amazon. I love it. So far I have used it for rice and pulled pork with great results. I've been hearing so much about the Instant Pot & have been wanting to get one. There is so much I'd like to try. Since I homeschool & have 4 children - making quick dinners that turn out juicy and not dry would be so helpful. My crockpot just has been disappointing me lately. Thanks for the chance!

That's so awesome that you homeschool. 🙂 I hear you with the quick dinners, it's nice to have a method that helps get meals done fast.

Emily Sunwell-Vidaurri
Yes, so true with pastured eggs ... those shells just hold on! 😉 But not with the Instant Pot, I was blown away. 🙂 SO fun that you have your own chickens.

I made this yesterday and it was wonderful. I used regular sugar, but everything else as you suggested. It was really spicy but this dish would have been too bland without it!! Next time I might use a little less than the 2 T of Thai Garlic Chili that I used this time (but not a lot less). Thanks for the great recipe.
