Roasted Maple Apple Brussels Sprouts are so tasty and appetizing! The perfectly caramelized Brussels sprouts and apples get drizzled with a heavenly buttery maple glaze that is so good! Add this flavorful, 6 ingredient side dish to your holiday table or enjoy it any day of the week.
Brussels Sprouts and apples go perfectly together.
There's something about the tender sweet apples paired with the nutty, caramelized, crispy Brussels sprouts. The flavor combo is simply perfect.
This side dish is so easy to make. All you need a handful of real food ingredients - lots of beautiful green Brussels sprouts, organic apples {my favorite variety is Honey Crisp}, avocado oil and sea salt.
To make these Roasted Maple Apple Brussels Sprouts extra special, you'll need a little bit of maple syrup and grass-fed butter or ghee. This step is totally optional, but this buttery maple glaze adds another layer of delectable flavor. It's so good!
For those of you who need a Low Carb, Keto or Whole30 side dish, you'll need to skip this optional step. But don't worry, they still taste amazing without the maple glaze. Trust me, my youngest gobbles up a quarter of the roasted Brussels sprouts on the baking sheet before I can get the glaze on them. They're that good.
Four simple real food ingredients plus an extra 2 ingredients for a maple-butter glaze.
This Roasted Maple Apple Brussels Sprouts side dish comes together rather quickly with very little prep time and about 35 minutes cook time while the Brussels sprouts and apples roast in the oven.
After the Brussels sprouts are perfectly golden brown and crispy you can make the optional maple-butter glaze.
This is so easy to do, it just takes minutes on the stovetop. Then you drizzle the glaze all over the top of the Brussels sprouts and apples, then pop the baking sheet back into the oven for a few minutes to allow the glaze to absorb. That's it!
If you need to feed a lot of people or plan on serving this for your Thanksgiving or Christmas holiday dinner, this recipe can easily be doubled or tripled.
Enjoy these crispy golden brown Brussels sprouts and sweet apples any day of the week or serve this delicious side dish at parties and holiday gatherings.

Roasted Maple Apple Brussels Sprouts
Roasted Maple Apple Brussels Sprouts are so tasty and appetizing! The perfectly caramelized Brussels sprouts and apples get drizzled with a heavenly buttery maple glaze that is so good! Add this flavorful, 6 ingredient side dish to your holiday table or enjoy it any day of the week.
Ingredients
- 6 ½ cups {about 1 lb} medium to large Brussels sprouts
- 3 organic apples, halved, cored and thickly sliced
- ¼ cup avocado oil
- 1 teaspoon sea salt (<-- this is my favorite Himalayan sea salt)
- ¼ cup organic maple syrup {omit for Whole30}
- 3 tablespoon grass-fed butter or ghee
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 425 degrees F. Prep a large baking sheet with edges {like a jellyroll pan, I used a stoneware large bar pan} - line it with unbleached parchment paper. Set aside.
- Wash and prep the Brussels sprouts, dry them with a clean dish towel. Cut the stems off of the Brussels sprouts ends, especially if they are long and woody. Remove any damaged or yucky outer leaves. Cut the Brussels sprouts in half. Next prep the apples. Add the Brussels sprouts and apples to a large mixing bowl, add the avocado oil and sea salt, giving everything a stir until fully coated.
- Dump the oiled Brussels sprouts and apples on the lined baking sheet, arranging in a uniform single layer.
- Bake at 425 degrees F for about 25-35 minutes until the Brussels sprouts are perfectly golden brown and caramelized. Depending on your oven, this could take more or less time to bake. Keep an eye on the Brussels sprouts around 20 minutes to gauge how much more time your oven will need - if needed give the pan a shake or use a spatula to flip the Brussels sprouts and apples. Remove from the oven when done.
- OPTIONAL {skip this step for Whole30} - Heat the maple syrup and butter in a small sauce pan over medium heat, bring to a boil and let simmer for about 3 minutes, or just until the maple syrup and butter become a thicker glaze consistency. Drizzle the Brussels sprouts and apples with the maple syrup glaze and return the baking sheet to the heated oven for 3 minutes to absorb the glaze.
- Serve immediately.
Notes
YOU WILL NEED: Large Bar Pan or Large Jellyroll Baking Pan, Unbleached Parchment Paper
- For Whole30: Omit the maple syrup glaze. These Brussels sprouts and apples are just as good roasted without the glaze.
