Healthy raspberry swirl frozen yogurt is the perfect treat to cool down with on a hot summer day!
Sweet and tart organic raspberries paired with tangy, creamy yogurt is a match made in heaven when it comes to frozen treats.
Pale white tones with ripples of beautiful, delicate and vibrant pink hues makes for one super pretty frozen yogurt! It certainly pleases the eyes.
Raspberries are a favorite of my Tiny Love's. She looks forward to raspberries every summer.
She's my kiddo who loves real food and things that are not so sweet. She'll enjoy plain yogurt over sweetened yogurt any day. She loves that pure, tangy, good ole flavor of yogurt. And I love that about her.
I on the other hand grew up with a lot of sugar, so that's what I knew. It took a while to transition from that when I changed my diet many years ago. I've been cane sugar-free for almost two years now since I found out my body cannot tolerate sugar.
But since I still have the memory of old sugary favorites, I love to create treats that I can still enjoy, like this delicious healthy raspberry swirl frozen yogurt.
And that means cold treats like frozen yogurt and ice cream. What can I say? I just simply love them.
There is nothing like a delicious bowl of icy, sweet and tangy frozen yogurt, especially when the weather is hot. We've been making lots of frozen treats since we had a 100+ degrees weeklong stretch of insanely hot weather.
Since my youngest loves raspberries, and she asks for them all the time, I just had to come up with a special treat that she would enjoy.
Sweet raspberries plus tangy yogurt equals heavenly bliss!
This healthy raspberry swirl frozen yogurt is so light and refreshing!
The smooth and creamy vanilla frozen yogurt base is made with Nancy’s Organic Plain Whole Milk Yogurt. Their delicious yogurt adds about 42 grams of protein to this frozen yogurt. Isn't that great?! Protein rich treat? Yes please!
I have been using Nancy’s products since I was a young girl.
As a kid I didn’t know much about the history of Nancy’s, I just knew that I liked the tanginess and creaminess of their yogurt. But as an adult, I learned that Nancy’s is a great company and so inline with my thoughts on real food and sustainability.
One of my favorite things about this company is that they have been focusing on sustainability and organic practices way before it became popular. I also love that they are family owned and operated in Eugene, Oregon {since 1960}.
They offer TRUE live probiotic cultured products. Their whole milk yogurt contains over 56 billion active probiotic cultures in each serving! That is so wonderful since we all know how important probiotics are for gut-health.
Nancy’s Organic Plain Whole Milk Yogurt was also one of the things I devoured during my pregnancies {especially in smoothies}. And later it became one my Tiny Love's favorite first foods {and she still loves it, without any sweeteners}.
Their yogurt paired with a honey-sweetened homemade raspberry coulis is so delicious!
This vanilla frozen yogurt doesn't have any refined sugar. In fact, my family prefers it sweetened with stevia, but it's also delicious made with raw honey or real maple syrup.
The raspberry coulis is super simple, just organic raspberries cooked down with some local honey. You can't get much simpler than that.
It's so easy to make your own frozen yogurt!
I highly recommend getting your own ice cream maker. Yes, you can make no-churn recipes, but honestly, I prefer the texture of frozen yogurt from an ice cream maker. It's truly a night and day difference when it comes to texture - less icy and more creamy. This is my favorite ice cream maker. I love this one too. They work so well and last for years.
You'll get a ton of use out of it too, especially if you love frozen yogurt, ice cream or even sorbets. Making your own homemade frozen treats is so much healthier {and better} than the store-bought stuff.
WHERE TO FIND NANCY’S YOGURT

If you love that sweet but bitter tang of raspberries plus yogurt, the kind of sharp tang that keeps you wanting more, then you're going to love this delectable healthy raspberry swirl frozen yogurt.
One bite won't be enough. So make sure to serve yourself a big bowl!
Healthy Raspberry Swirl Frozen Yogurt
Healthy Raspberry Swirl Frozen Yogurt
Creamy and smooth, plus sweet and tangy, this healthy Raspberry Swirl Frozen Yogurt is sure to please. With only 7 simple ingredients, this refreshing vanilla frozen yogurt with a beautiful, naturally sweetened, raspberry coulis is packed with protein and super easy to make.
Ingredients
For the Frozen Yogurt:
- 32 oz whole yogurt or Greek yogurt
- 3 tablespoon light colored raw honey or maple syrup or ¾ to 1 teaspoon liquid stevia
- 1 tablespoon organic vanilla extract
- ½ teaspoon organic almond extract - (optional, but highly recommend)
- ¼ teaspoon mineral-rich salt (this is my favorite sea salt)
- 1 tablespoon arrowroot powder
For the Raspberry Swirl:
- 6 oz fresh or frozen organic raspberries
- 3 tablespoon light colored raw honey or maple syrup or ¾ to 1 teaspoon liquid stevia
Instructions
- To make the frozen yogurt, add all of the frozen yogurt ingredients to a blender. Pulse just until combined. Set aside.
- Prepare the ice cream maker. Turn the ice cream maker on and pour the frozen yogurt mixture into the ice cream maker. Churn according to the manufacturer's instructions.
- While the frozen yogurt is churning, make the raspberry coulis. Add the raspberries and sweetener of choice to a small saucepan over medium heat, stirring occasionally until the raspberries have broken down into a liquid puree, about 5 minutes. Once the coulis is made, strain through a fine mesh strainer into a mixing bowl and place raspberry coulis in the refrigerator to cool.
- When the frozen yogurt starts to have a "soft serve" texture, it's done. Remove the mixer from the frozen yogurt. Using a wooden spoon, transfer ⅓ of the frozen yogurt to a freezer-safe container, then drizzle ⅓ of the cooled raspberry coulis over the ice cream, repeat by transferring another ⅓ of the frozen yogurt on top of that, then drizzle ⅓ of the raspberry coulis over the frozen yogurt, then repeat one last time transferring the final ⅓ of the ice cream on top of that, then drizzle the rest of the raspberry coulis over the top. Cover and place in the freezer for about 15 minutes then serve immediately. This frozen yogurt is best served a bit thicker than "soft serve" texture. If it's frozen longer than 15 minutes, make sure to remove it from the freezer and set it on the counter for at least 30 minutes before serving - it will not be as soft after fully frozen.
Notes
YOU WILL NEED: Ice Cream Maker {this is my favorite ice cream maker}
- Make sure to use a lighter honey like clover, star thistle or orange blossom {wild flower varieties tend to be too strong for this flavor combo}.
- I run my ice cream maker for about 20-25 minutes until it's a thick "soft serve" consistency.
- If you prefer the frozen yogurt to be "soft serve" consistency, skip the layering process and just drizzle the raspberry coulis into the ice cream maker and gently fold it into the frozen yogurt.
- If you need a dairy-free version, just substitute with dairy-free yogurt.

It's great that your daughter loves real food- it unfortunately seems so rare these days! And she's lucky she has a mama that will make her this. Yum! Wish I could have dairy because it looks amazing, but my kids seem to be ok with it so I'll have to make it for them for sure.
Emily Sunwell-Vidaurri
I hear you, my youngest does love real food and enjoys everything, my older one ... not so much. We just have to do the best we can as parents. I hope my oldest decides at some point that she wants to nourish her body with good food. I can relate with the dairy too, it's a harder one. That's great though that your family can tolerate it. I hope they get to enjoy some 🙂
Irena

My husband would love this because raspberries are his favorite thing! And I'm absolutely the same way with cane sugar, but I do make an exception for a few Christmas cookies, but even then most everything I make now is with natural sweeteners. 🙂
Emily Sunwell-Vidaurri
I hope you get to make some for him 🙂 I hear you, Christmas cookies are so much fun!

Thanks Jessica! Right? It really does help so much, especially with non-dairy ice creams too. There's just something about the churning that makes it so much better. 🙂

Frances
Hi Emily, love all the photos but I find it hard to believe that "Nancy's whole milk yogurt contains over 56 billion active probiotic cultures in each serving!" I would believe this if you said Kefir Milk.
Regards Frances from South Africa
Emily Sunwell-Vidaurri
Hi Frances 🙂 It's true indeed. Nancy's Yogurts offer over 56 billion live active probiotic cultures in each serving. They're a great company in the US that have truly paved the way for true cultured products.
Janet Fazio
Perfect for the hot days we've been having. I'm so much happier on a very low sugar/no high fructose corn syrup diet, but still occasionally crave something sweet. This looks like it will do the trick.
